LaShonda Rosemond 

LaShonda is a second-generation hairstylist from Cincinnati,Ohio. She learned to perfect most of her talent by observing her mother styling other women hair as a young child. She attended Moore Universite’ of Hair Design and obtained her Cosmetology license in 2004. She then went on to achieve her Managing Cosmetologist License in 2005. 

LaShonda thrived in the hair industry for seven years, absorbing immense knowledge of the cosmetology field. She opened her own salon in 2011 entitled “Uptown Salon and Spa” in Cincinnati Ohio. She also was Founder and Creative Director of Hair & Beauty Expo: Cincinnati in 2013, as well as launched Uptown Luxe Collection, a hair care line designed for at home hair care needs, in 2015. 

LaShonda was recommended and chosen to be the educator for Life Skills Center new braiding/natural hair course through the Christopher Amira Program in 2017. She also was chosen as educator for students in the Diamond Oaks Cosmetology Program for Interning high school girls. 

Throughout her 14 years within the industry she has attended trade shows, educational classes on the latest techniques, salon business, styles and trends. In the process of continuing her education, LaShonda also manages, educate, and mentor her stylists from the Uptown team, as well as others in the cosmetology field who are seeking her expertise. 

LaShonda has mentored many aspiring cosmetologists in the community. Her work has supported others in developing their gifts and talents in this field. She plans to continue to serve in this capacity to ensure that these individuals reach their highest level of capacity within the cosmetology industry.
